Our Mission
Uplift, inform and ignite parent and student voices in under-resourced St. Louis communities, to successfully navigate educational systems of power in pursuit of equitable and quality school choices.
Parents are the most knowledgeable when it comes to their children and their needs. This Parent Power is often missing at the table and in the rooms where decisions are being made about education in our community. Parent Activators are here to demand a change, by educating and mobilizing other parents to unlock their Parent Power in pursuit of quality education choices for all children in the St.Louis community.

Youth Activators
We convene and empower young people to shape their own education. This summer, we will launch our inaugural Youth Activators program — a four-week, paid fellowship in which youth leaders will deepen their understanding of the state of our schools and build their activism skills to create a better future. Your Voice = Your Vote
Did you know only 2% of black parents vote in local elections like the SLPS School Board and Board of Alderman races. We must change this by ensuring voters are registered, informed and have a plan for turn-out. Activators work to ensure elected officials represent and are accountable to the constituents in the community they serve.
Why Charter
St. Louis is one of the largest charter cities in the nation, with over 40% of parents in our city choosing a charter school for their child's education. Public Charter School Parents should be proud and celebrated for their choice in pursuit of the best school possible for their child. Activators work to uplift their stories and curate pride and community amongst the Public Charter families in the city of St. Louis.
Activate STL Takes Jeff City
On August 17th Activate STL went to Jefferson City for the Senate Interim Education Hearing. Testifying at the Capitol in Jefferson City is an excellent way for elected officials to hear from parents and families. This was a critical hearing around the need for more school accountability and transparency.
